Rodrigue Kwizera breaks Prague Half course report


The Burundi athlete bettered Sabastian Sawe’s mark of 58:24 from the 2024 version.

Rodrigue Kwizera laid down a marker over 13.1 miles with a mightily spectacular victory within the males’s elite race on the 2026 Generali Prague Half Marathon.

The 26-year-old triumphed with a course report of 58:16, bettering on Sabastian Sawe’s course report of 58:24 from two years in the past.

Kwizera gained by 32 seconds to Kenya’s Samwel Chebolei Masai, with Owen Korir Kapkama third in 58:58.

It implies that Kwizera, who retained his title with the fifth quickest time over 13.1 miles to date this season, is now 14th on the half marathon all-time checklist.

The boys’s podium have been all extremely quick, with the highest three athletes ending underneath 59 minutes. The main Czech athlete was Jan Friš, who ran 64:55.

Caroline Makandi Gitonga (RunCzech)

Kenya’s Caroline Makandi Gitonga beat a robust girls’s discipline and triumphed by 39 seconds within the Czech capital.

Her compatriots Jesca Chelangat (66:45) and Cynthia Chelangat Chepkwony (66:49) completed second and third respectively.

Gitonga’s mark is the ninth quickest time over 13.1 miles to date this season.

The Prague Worldwide Marathon was based in 1995 by Carlo Capalbo, President of the Organising Committee, with the purpose of making a world-class worldwide occasion within the metropolis.

The SuperHalfs sequence consists of six races—Prague, Berlin, Lisbon, Copenhagen, Cardiff, and Valencia. Runners who full all six earn a singular medal and the title of SuperRunner.
